iPhone helps travel

apple iphone in h%20and%20 thumb - iPhone helps travel

Well summer is fast approaching and most of us at some point in time will hit the road, rails or sky to venture to various vacation destinations, or maybe, to that new Traveling Nurse assignment through Medical Solutions? I for one have no plans as of yet, maybe a weekend jaunt here and there, but nothing major. I’ve done plenty of traveling already through the beginning of the year and all the while I was accompanied by new best friend, the iPhone!

Believe it or not, it is “My First Cell Phone!” That’s right, you read that right. I’ve held out for so long but came to the realization that having some means of communication is essential when traveling to foreign places for obvious reasons, like safety and security. I no longer have pockets full of little post-it notes with numbers written all over. No longer do I have to use a pay phone and feel like the only man on the planet without a cell phone… I mean, 4th graders even have cell phone nowadays!

So finally I’ve joined the ranks of the 21st century! What better way than with the iPhone. Of course it’s much more then just a phone. I can email, get on the net, check the weather, look at stocks, play games, watch movies and listen to music. That’s just the tip… There’s so much more, but I don’t want to bore you. My point being though… It would quite the tool when on your next traveling nurse assignment. I don’t know how many times I was asked to find a certain restaurant or see how late this store is open? Each time I was glad to help and it made the price of the iPhone a little more justifiable. Now when you’re out exploring your new surroundings, what better way to know who, what, when or where you are than with answers from your iPhone?! Sure there are other options, but to me, this is the ultimate gadget to have right now! Just ask my boss… He’s a PC guy and we “discuss” the pros and cons all the time.

Get those bags packed, check the oil, charge that phone and hit the road!

P.S. Today Apple is about to launch the latest and greatest… iPhone 2.0! Anybody want to buy my old one so that I can get the new one?

About the Author:

Patrick Fuerstenau here. Born in Kentucky, raised in Germany, landed in Nebraska and still here. I've been involved with Marketing and Advertising for over a decade. It all began with an internship at an ad agency in Omaha, followed by a 9 year stint as a graphic artist at the lone major newspaper in Omaha. A friend of mine told me about an opening at her company and said that it was the best gig she's ever had... So I decided to spread my proverbial wings and see what I could do for them and vice versa. So here I am at Medical Solutions as a Marketing Specialist for a great travel nursing company. This by far has been a major blessing in my life. I love the work I get to do just as much as I love the people who make up this fabulous company. I can see myself here for a long time... As long as they'll have me. Now that we've got the career timeline out of the way... Let me tell you a little about who I am. I am oh so passionate about the game of futbol! I've been playing soccer since the age of 8 and am still playing today. If I couldn't at least kick the ball around, I don't know what I would do with myself. I fear getting old. I also have a strong love for the arts... Music, Visual arts, Film, Design... pretty much anything and everything arty. I'm happy go lucky and am always looking to have a good time. Just ask my manager! And I love writing about travel nursing.
