Shake the Winter Doldrums and Take a Break, a Spring Break!

I can see the light! Day-light Savings Time that is! For those of you who are located in areas that recognize this practice, it’s a sign that spring is right around the corner. After months of seclusion, it is soon time to break out and enjoy the outdoors again, finally. What better way to celebrate this transition than with a little rest and relaxation…. Ahhh.

Being a travel nurse is similar to taking a vacation, with the many wonderful locations and time off. But it’s all not quite fun and games. So why not escape it all, just for few days and give your batteries that well needed recharge? Taking time for one’s self may be difficult for some, but it’s something you should strongly consider given the magnitude of your occupation. Dealing with sick patients, their families, long hours, etc., I’d say you deserve a vacation.

Travel Nurses Vacation Getaways

Picture yourself here.

So where should you go, what should you do? Your options are endless, but let me point you in the direction of a few ideas geared towards Traveling Nurses like yourself. The website which describes itself as, “your home for career enhancement. Our products, seminars and vacations are all focused on helping nurses get the professional information they need in a fun and entertaining way. There’s no better place to further your nursing career!” hosts a couple vacation getaways a year and each is coupled with continuing education classes, worth up to 6 credit hours. Now I know it’s not all fun and games, but this year the locales for each are pretty sweet. Check them out… The next trip is scheduled for May 16-20 in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, so hurry up and claim your fun in the sun!

Here’s another combination vacation and continuing education idea. Check out, here they offer Travel Nurses and other healthcare professionals the opportunity to earn CE credits while on vacation. Again, it’s not all play, but the perspectives you’ll have will definitely beat any classroom you could think of.

Of course, you don’t have to go where there are more nurses around you at all times. Like I said, you need a break from it all so check out these other sites for a getaway you won’t soon forget. Bon voyage!

About the Author:

Patrick Fuerstenau here. Born in Kentucky, raised in Germany, landed in Nebraska and still here. I've been involved with Marketing and Advertising for over a decade. It all began with an internship at an ad agency in Omaha, followed by a 9 year stint as a graphic artist at the lone major newspaper in Omaha. A friend of mine told me about an opening at her company and said that it was the best gig she's ever had... So I decided to spread my proverbial wings and see what I could do for them and vice versa. So here I am at Medical Solutions and am going on my 3rd year as a Marketing Specialist for a great travel nursing company. This by far has been a major blessing in my life. I love the work I get to do just as much as I love the people who make up this fabulous company. I can see myself here for a long time... As long as they'll have me. Now that we've got the career timeline out of the way... Let me tell you a little about who I am. I am oh so passionate about the game of futbol! I've been playing soccer since the age of 8 and am still playing today. If I couldn't at least kick the ball around, I don't know what I would do with myself. I fear getting old. I also have a strong love for the arts... Music, Visual arts, Film, Design... pretty much anything and everything arty. I'm happy go lucky and am always looking to have a good time. Just ask my manager! And I love writing about travel nursing.
