Lady WheatfieldTravel nursing is certainly an amazing industry to work in, but it takes amazing people to fit the bill and stand up to the challenges of the job. Most travel nurses have always had these qualities to a certain extent, but they tend to become even stronger through traveling. There are definitely way more than 5 reasons travel nurses rock — but we had to start somewhere! Here are 5 reasons travel nurses rock:

1.   Travel nurses are adaptable.

All nurses learn to roll with the punches to a certain extent, but for travel nurses this skill is especially strong. They must adapt to a new city, facility, and co-workers, along with being flexible on the job.

2.   Travel nurses are well-traveled.

This is a bonus of the job that truly enhances a person’s life. Travel nurses have seen a lot of the world and experienced a lot, too. They have great stories, whether from the road or one of the many awesome destinations they’ve traveled to.

3.   Travel nurses are experts at their job.

The ability to go into any facility in any city and perform   Hospitals know this very well, which is why most facilities require 1-2 years hospital experience before staffing a nurse in a travel contract.

4.   Travel nurses are compassionate.

With all of the other things they may be dealing with, such as acclimating to a new town, housing situation, co-workers, and facility, travel nurses maintain amazing patient care and compassion towards those that they serve.

5.   Travel nurses are confident.

In order to do what they do, travel nurses must be very confident in their professional and social skills. This confidence allows him or her to join a unit without any shyness or doubt and hit the ground running with both patients and peers.
