Thanks for your comment Jay. Its great to hear from an employee at Hopkins. I have no doubt that many who watch the program will come away with great respect for Hopkins as it is an elite organization. Of course as a blog dedicated to the travel nursing field we’re hoping to see the nurses get some much deserved attention. Regardless, it will be very interesting to watch.

Thanks also for the tip on the original documentary Hopkins 24/7, which aired in 2000. I’ll have to try to catch that as well.

I work at Hopkins and watched Hopkins 24/7. This hospital respects and appreciates all its’ employees, from the electricians, to the food service people, to the people who transport patients, to the nurses. The old show was fantastic, and is supposed to be shown on Sunday nights on Discovery at 10pm. We strive to be the best. I would think that nurses would be very important in the show. Of course, the show has a limited amount of time for showing the relationships between doctors and patients, and the difficult decisions that have to be made. It may be that they can’t highlight the nurses b/c of time.

Thanks for the comment Ashley. I hadn’t thought about the show helping drive interest in a career in healthcare. Hopefully that will happen and maybe they’ll help bring some attention to the nursing shortage as well.

I can’t wait for this show. I think it’s going to be a hit and hopefully will open the eyes of young people and get then interersted in the medical field.
